Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubian magmatites, Central Moldanubian Pluton, Melechov Massif. Natural rocky outcrop of a granite of the Lipnice type. This type can be characterized as fine grained two-mica granite. It differs from adjoining granites by its elevated radioactivity and preferred orientation of rock forming minerals. Increased amount of calcium (bound in basic plagioclase) is also worth mentioning. Granite contains gneiss xenoliths. Described granite represents the oldest Variscan intrusion of the northern part of the Moldanubian pluton.
