Short characteristics of the site:
A large abandoned quarry at Fláje, N of Litvínov. Until 1962, the quarry exploited medium-grained biotite granite of the Fláje massif, pertaining to the Older Intrusive Complex. The rock is hypidiomorphic, composed of K-feldspar, plagioclase, quartz and biotite, and locally fractured. It was used for the construction of the Fláje Dam.
