Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Old paleontological locality (Jesuitengraben). Volcaniclastic sediments contain interlayers of diatomites which yielded abundant fossil flora. Also mineralogical finds of phillipsite, natrolite, thompsonite and calcite in surrounding basalt.
