Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality belongs to the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. It consists of natural 40 m high perpendicular wall made of the Upper Cretaceous, Lower Turonian,Bílá Hora Beds. These sediments are silicified, with carbonate content, rich in silt and can be called "the opuka". Also some sedimentary structures can be observed. Some layers are fossil bearing. The thick layers display columnar jointing.
