Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarry and series of natural outcrops. Rocks of lava channelway are partly exposed. Also volcanic breccia and network of dykes. Outcrops of ill-sorted pyroclastics possibly represent former base of pyroclastic cone. Common columnar jointing is present, in places also spherical jointing. This locality is classified as Nature Monument.
