Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Brunovistulicum and Basal Devonian clastics. Contact of the two units is exposed in the highway cut. The Brunovistulicum is represented by schistose granodiorites with cataclastic texture and foliated mylonites. Overlying Devonian clastics are formed of quartzose sandstones up to conglomeraters with clasts as large as 5 cm. Almost vertical mylonite zone occurs on contact between two described units.
