Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moravicum, Proterozoic. Natural outcrops and abandoned, sporadically exploited, quarry in crystalline limestones. Erosional valley exposes rocks of the Lukov Unit of the Dyje (Thaya) Dome. Together with crystalline limestones also biotite phyllites are exposed. Interesting relief phenomena, small frost cliffs are abundant. This area is locally covered by loess. Rare vegetation with Melicetum ciliatae. This locality is protected as a Nature Monument.
