Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Summit part of an elevation formed of a volcanic stock, isolated by erosion from the surrounding Cretaceous sediments (Březno Formation, Coniacian). Volcanic rocks are classified as an olivine alkaline basalt with nepheline. Petrologically and geomorphologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Dispersed Alcalic volcanits
Stratigraphy: kenozoikum - terciér (paleogén - neogén)
