Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality is called "Žlutý kopec - Helgoland - The Yellow Hill - Helgoland" and belongs to the Moravosilesian Devonian. The outcrop is situated on the summit of the Žlutý kopec and exposes clastic sediments of Lower and Middle Devonian ages. The conglomerates and sandstones are present. Sandstones are classified as quartzose sandstones and subarkoses. Oblique channel bedding is present with oriented pebbles. Both conglomerates and sandstones are ill-sorted. The sandstones and conglomerates have been deposited by the activity of one or several braided rivers.
