Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned and flooded open pit. Coal of the Lower and Upper Radnice seams( Westphalian C) was mined. Coal seams not deep below the surface are interlayered by volcaniclastic sediments. Also interesting remains of macroflora. Stratigraphically important locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Upper Carboniferous and Permian - Central and Western Bohemian Late Palaeozoicum
