Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Letná Hill inside Prague City is a type locality of the Letná Formation (Ordovician, Beroun Series). It consists of an alternation of gsubgreywackes and siltstones. Coarse-gained layers exhibit interesting sedimentary structures. Also faunal remains are present.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Bohemicum (Central Bohemian region) - Barrandien
