Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Open pit with an outcrop of a porcelanite, sands, clays, tuffites and coal seam. Due to a spontaneous coal ignition clay was metamorphosed up to porcelanite. Interesting occurrences of flora. Paleontologically and sedimentologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Basins under Krušné hory Mts.and adjoining volcanic uplands
Stratigraphy: kenozoikum - terciér (paleogén - neogén)
