Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Erosional valley with an outcrop of the Tertiary coal seam. It belongs to a small separate Polerady Basin. The coal seam lies on kaolinitized tuffites and greenish clays. Sedimentologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Basins under Krušné hory Mts.and adjoining volcanic uplands
Stratigraphy: kenozoikum - terciér (paleogén - neogén)
