Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Old quarry. Outcrop of Quaternary cover, ovelying loamy sediment with quartzite blocks. Below there is basalt lava flow with columnar jointing. This lava flow lies on a thin layer of tuffite and 150 cm thick bank of massive quartzite. Sedimentologically significant locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Basins under Krušné hory Mts.and adjoining volcanic uplands
Stratigraphy: kenozoikum - terciér (paleogén - neogén)
