Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned open pit mine in metamorphosed ultrabasic rocks. They occur in the Sobotín amfibolite complex of the Devonian age. Aggregates of talc, chlorite, actinolite, dolomite and apatite are typical for this locality. Mineralogically and petrologically significant locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Moravosilesian region - Silezicum
