Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Unique example of the regular system of columnar joints in a body of the lava flow of the olivine basaltoid. It represents only a relic of large lava flow. Basaltic columns were quarried in the past, used for constructional and decorative works and can be found in many places in surrounding area. Remarkable site and favourite excursion locality.
