Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Open pit, flooded. Abandoned exploitation of a lignite (humodyl) of a Badenian age. Part of their seams crop out, mostly, however, they are several tens of metres below surface. Significant locality from many viewpoints.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Freshwater Tertiary relics
