Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Large abandoned quarry exposing thick sequence of dark grey dolomites and dolomitic Lažánky Limestone (Macocha Formation, Eifelian, Middle Devonian). It is overlain by a denudational relic of the Čelechovice Limestone rich in fossils. Stratigraphically significant locality.
