Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Two abandoned quarries with outcrops of the Hostýn Beds (Formation) of the lithofacial zone of the Rača Unit of the Magura flysch (Maastrichtian up to Middle Paleocene). Sediments are represented by coarse-grained sandstones with carbonate clasts. Sedimentologically and stratigrahically interesting locality.
