Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarry with outcrops of a flysch sequence of the Hostýn Beds of the Hostýn lithofacial zone of the Rača Unit of the Magura Flysch Unit. Sediments are of Paleocene-Eocene age. Sandstone beds exhibit many turbidite sedimentary structures. Stratigraphically and sedimentologically interesting locality.
