Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Active quarry with outcrops of 60 m thick section of the Hostýn Beds (Paleocene-Eocene). They belong to the facial Hostýn Zone of the Rača Unit of the Magura flysch. Turbidite flysch sequence is well exposed in this quarry. Sedimentologically and stratigraphically important site.
