Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarry exposes Upper Cretaceous strata of the Godula Development of the Silesian Unit (Outer Flysch Carpathians). The section is the type locality of the Mazák Formation (red shales) including the Ostravice Sandstone (thick calcareous sandstones and breccias). The Mazák Formation is overlaid by thin-rhythmic flysch of the Godula Formation.
