Geology

Short characteristics of the site: A prominent volcanic hill with a series of artificial and natural outcrops in Tertiary nephelinite and olivine nephelinite. Two explosive phases were identified. Pyroclastic beds enclose metamorphosed blocks of Cretaceous and Permo-Carboniferous sediments. A volcanologically and petrologically significant locality.
