Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Loučský potok stream cut southeast of Hranické Loučky village is the type locality of the Milotice Formation (Silesian Unit of the Carpathian Flysch Belt). Bluish-gray to grey-green claystones with isolated sandstone intercalations are exposed here. Claystones contain foraminifers Saccorhiza sp., Marssonella crassa (Mars.), Uvigerinammina jankoi Majz., Tritaxia capitosa (Cush.), T. cf. amorpha (Cush.), Osangularia cordieriana (Orb.) etc. The calcareous nannofossils Lithastrinus grillii, Micula staurophora, Reinhardtites anthophorus and Marthasterites furcatus prove Coniacian–Santonian age.
