Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Waterfall on the Bílý potok brook. Formed due to a presence of a bank of fine-grained muscovitic quartzite. This quartzite is far more resistant to the weathering as the surrounding two-mica micaschist.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Moldanubicum - Metamorphic units in Moldanubicum, Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Quaternary - Quaternary of denudation areas of Bohemian Massif
Stratigraphy: paleozoikum - ordovik
Subject: geomorphology, hydrogeology, lithology
Geological phenomenon: waterfall, fold, outcrop, deformation fabrics
Genesis: aquatic (water activity), metamorphic (general metamorphism)
