Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Shore of the Hlásenec brook with muddy flood deposiots covering rhyolite pyroclastics. Pyroclastic layer is about 8 metres thick and probably forms an interlayer within calcareous clays of the Badenian age. Pyroclastics are rich in glassy shards and contain also quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioclase and secondary minerals, mainly clay minerals. Accessoric zircon is also present. This locality is situated in the Upper Moravian Vale.
