Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Large quarry with intermittent mining. Whitish marble is exploited. It forms massive elongated body within biotite gneisses and mica schists. Platy jointing of the marble enables its use e.g. for cladding and facing. Marblstones are calcified, small network of caverns has been formed, one of them is accessible. The locality belongs to Orlice-Sněžník Crystalline.
