Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Impressive bell-shaped phonolitic cumulo-volcano. Its slopes are covered by stony scree. Debris are often of platy and columnar shape. In the piedmont area small abandoned quarry occurs with rocks showing columnar and platy jointing.
