Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality represents an interesting part of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Series of cliffs and rocky ouitcrops is formed of the sandstones of Jizera Beds. Nearby Strážov fault caused brecciation of sone zones in the sandstones as well as their local silicification and ferritization. The polzenite lavas have filled channelways and their contact contributed to sandstone change. Such compacted and silicified sandstones were formerly quarried in nearby pits and used for local purpose.
