Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned small limestone quarry. This outcrops is considered to represent Middle Devonian tectonic cliff within the Culm beds. Light grey Vilémovice Limestone contains numerous stromatoporoids and corals. Nearby silty greywackes belong to the Rozstáň Beds. Contact between limestones and greywackes is of tectonic character. The locality belongs to the Protected Landscape Area "Moravský kras - the Moravian Karst".
