Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality is represented by two abandoned quarries, already overgrown, exposing volcanic rocks, relics of the Quaternary volcanism of the Bohemian Massif. This stratovolcano belongs to a group of young volcanoes of the Nízký Jeseník Mts. In the quarries relics of crater vent and lava flows are preserved. The vent transected Culm greywackes and shales of the Moravice Formation. The volcanic rocks can be classified of olivine basalt. Spherical jointing is typical for it.
