Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The group of quarries with outcrops of Neoproterozoic silicites (lydites). They are partly massive, partly laminated and banded. Their fracturing is ubiquitous. Silicites occur within the sequence of Neoproterozoic schists. Due to their competency, these lydites form sharp edged elevations in landscape. Stratigraphically they belong to the Kralupy-Zbraslav Group.
