Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The abandoned sandpit with Neogene fluvial sediments, covered by aeolian deposits. These fluvial sands form a sequence of lower coarse sand with gravel and overlying fine grained sands passing even to clayey sand. This alternation correponds to active fluvial cycle. Gravel pebbles are made of quartz, silicites and/or Cambrian volcanics and their tuffs.
These sediments are overlain by blankets of limy loess with lime nodules. Slope scree deposits are also present.
