Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The locality called the Bastels adit belongs to the Monotonous Group of the Moldanubicum. Relics of mining of quartz veins and secretionary quartz are preserved along the adit entrance and its surroundings. The veins of hydrothermal and secretionary quartz occur within erlans, quartzites and migmatitized paragneisses. The erlans consist mainly of diopside with some plagioclases and chloritized biotite. Modern surveys of possible adit reopening brought negative results. This locality belongs to the Register of old mining workings.
