Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality occurs in the old abandoned quarry in the Žďár settlement. Small body of amphibolite is exposed there and is surrounded by biotite gneisses and granulites. The amphibolites are of greyish colour and consist mainly of mineral amphibole and plagioklase. Also veinlets made of quartz-feldspar mixture are present. Traces of older original metamorphic foliation can be observed. This locality belongs to the Bohemain Moldanubicum Zone.
