Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Tha abandoned sandpit, overgrown and only with minor exposures of gravels and sands. It is supposed that these sediments are of fluvial origin and were deposited by river flows dewatering the Česko-moravská vrchovina (the Bohemian Moravian Upland). Pebble analyses indicate variable associacion of clasts.Quartz, muscovite-biotite granites and aplites prevail. Mentioned gravels cannot be used for aggregate production and building purposes, sands, however, can be utilized for a mortar production. This locality belongs to the area of the South Bohemian Tertiary Basins.
