Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The active quarry, called "Mokrá". It is typical shelf quarry with three levels and total height quarry face makes 30 metres. In the quarry a lava stream is exposed which overlies crystalline complex made of two-mica Žlutice mica schist. The lava displays typical columnar jointing. Petrographically it can be called analcimite. It contains also clinppyroxene and magnetite. Numerous cavities contain rich assemblage of minerals, as aragonite, boehmite, gypsite, natrolite, gonnardite, chlorite, phillipsite and many other. The analcime absolute age was found to be 20,4 Ma (Lower Miocene).
Geologically this locality belongs to the Doupovské hory Mts.
