Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality is remarkable because of existence of typical frost cliffs beneath the summit of the "Knížecí stolec - The Duke´s Throne Hill". The cliffs are made of amphibole-biotite melagranite up to melasyenite (durbachite). The rocks are disintegrated into blocks which accumulate along a foot of the elevation and form a block field. This feature was formed during glacial stages of the Pleistocene in time of intensive frost weathering. This locality belongs to the Šumava Mts. of the Moldanubicum Zone.
