Geology

Short characteristics of the site: This locality is called "Skalky u Lhotky - the Rocky Cliffs near Lhotka settlement". It occurs just along geological boundary between the Moldanubicum and ths Kutná Hora Crystalline. This marginal zone is mostly covered by overlying Cretaceous deposits. The Moldanubian rock section consists of migmatites with lenses of biotite paragneisses and erlans. The locality belongs to the network of UNESCO Geoparks as "the Železné Hory National Geopark - The Iron Mountains National Geopark".
