Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality is represented by old spoil dump. Forested area consists of Proterozoic volcanosedimentary rocks with phyllitized clayey shales, clayey graphitic shales and greywackes. They belong to so called Chvaletice Group of the Proterozoic age. All these rocks are intensively weathered and so covered by a muddy regolith. The rocks are also slightly metamorphosed. Nearby, also in an active quarry, fine grained two-mica granite is present. Mentioned dump has been accumulated during mining works. Some interesting minerals can be found there, such as rhodochrosite and rhodonite. The locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mts.",
