Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality represents deeply weathered outcrops of the Cretaceous sandstones of nearly total thickness of the Peruc-Korycany Formation (Cenomanian). Its sediments consist of quartzose sandstones, clayey sandstones also with glaukonite up to coaliferous claystones. Small relics of adits expose some occurrences of amber (Some amber pieces are exhibited in the Skuteč Museum). Also small traces of Cretaceous coal mining are preserved in surrounding forests. This locality belongs to the National Geopark Železné hory - the Iron Mountains.
