Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The active pit quarry in the northern part of the Železné hory plutonic complex. The amphibole-biotite granodiorite represents a fundamental rock in this area. The granodiorite is exploited and used for production of pavement cubes, sometimes for larger building elements. The locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mts".
