Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The series of rocky outcrops in forested area with ruins of castle Rabštejn. In this locality light quartzites prevail being accompanied by schists and siltstones. All the sediments are slightly metamorphosed. In quartzites numerous ichnofossils were found. Some parts of rocks suffered frost weathering and so vast stone fields rim the outcrop foot. The section is of Middle Ordovician age, the quartzites are stratigraphically correlated with Barrandian Skalka Formation. The locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mts,"!.
