Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Quaternary volcanics of the Bohemian Massif. Abandoned quarry with pyroclastic rocks. Coarse grained and ill sorted pyroclastic sediments contain fragments of Culm sediments and basaltoid volcanics. Their diagonal bedding is distinct. Depositional mechanism corresponds to pyroclastic waves during freatomagmatic eruption. This locality is undoubtedly of European importance.
