Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The metaarkoses and metagraywackes of the Železný Brod Crystalline Unit crop out in the roadcut at the western margin of the town Železný Brod. The arcoses were ascertained as kaledonian mollasse by Kodym and Svoboda (1948). According to resent investigations they represent a several meter thic member within sericite phyllies with graphitic admixture. At his locallity wihtin arcosic matrix occur up do dm scale clasts of dark silicified phyllitized shales, cm scale clas forms lydites, quartz, K-feldspar and partly also albitized plagioclases.
