Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Krkonoše Piedmont Basin, Upper Permian volcanites. Prominent elevation made of resistant rock, dark grey medium- up to coarse grained intrusive dolerite. Its composition corresponds to basaltic andesite. It consists of plagioclase, clinopyroxene, olivine and dark minerals. Texture is intersertal with glassy ground mass. Radiometric age is 254.6 plus minus 7.7 Ma.
