Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Krkonoše Piedmont Basin, Lower Permian. Small abandoned quarry and surrounding outcrops. Sequence of massive sandstones alternating with violet and reddish siltstones up to claystones. Slightly erosional base of sandstone layers with local accumulation of pebbles. Common bioturbation in siltstones as well as ripple bedding. Rill marks can be observed on bedding planes. Typical example of deposition in alluvial fans on a flood plain.
