Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Orlice-Sněžník crystalline. Old abandoned, partly flooded quarry. Albite granodiorite porphyries were quarried there. Porphyry dykes, several metres up to several tens of metres thick, cut through the Nové Město phyllites. Porphyries have often porphyric texture with biotite phenocrysts. Their groundmass consists of quartz, potassium feldspar and plagioclase. Accessories are represented by sphene and epidote.
