Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Orlice-Sněžník Crystalline. The only preserved karst cave in the Orlické Hory Mts. A hole- relic of former quarrying of crystalline limestone with its transition into natural karst underground. Part of a 500 m long body of crystalline limestones within gneisses and mainly mica schists which are graphitic locally. Unique association of early mining workings and natural erosional and evorsional processes.
