Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Boskovice Graben, Permocarboniferous. Ill-sorted coarse grained sandstones and conglomerates contain several limestone interlayers, about 100 cm thick. They are interpreted as calcrete deposits formed in a vadose zone of flood plains in semiarid climate. Interesting example of Permian fluvial sediments and formation of pedogenic calcrete layers.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Upper Carboniferous and Permian - Late Palaeozoicum of furrows
Stratigraphy: paleozoikum - perm
Subject: sedimentology, geomorphology, petrology
Geological phenomenon: incrustation
